Do you have kids (or grandkids) in public schools?
Day of Truth Counters Message of Intolerance
by Wendy Cloyd, assistant editor, Citizen Link
Students to proclaim the truth that homosexuality is not an immutable trait.
On April 27, high school students at more than 700 schools will counter the message of the previous day's pro-gay Day of Silence with their own call for tolerance: tolerance for the Christian perspective that homosexuality is against God's design, and that those who wish to may choose to seek God's best plan for them.
The Day of Truth, now in its second year, was established by the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) in response to the censorship of Christian students who wanted to present their opinions and beliefs. In the past, those in public schools who have attempted to speak against the promotion of homosexuality as just another normal lifestyle choice have often not been allowed to do so.
Delia van Loenen, litigation counsel for ADF, said the goal is to empower students to express their views and ensure that they are not punished or censored.
What can you do?
What can you expect?
What can you do if you're told you can't?
